Enrollment Welcome

South Carolina State University is pleased to present our students and families with the Tuition Payment Plan, administered by Higher One.

South Carolina State University encourages you to enroll in the Tuition Payment Plan in advance of the fee payment deadline. To make it easy, click one of the links below that best fits your needs and get started today, or for more information call Higher One today at (800) 635-0120 and a Higher One specialist will answer your questions and assist you with enrollment.

Only eligible students who have not been delinquent or terminated by Higher One may use the Tuition Payment Plan. Higher One terminates accounts at the request of the school.

The convenient, manageable payment solutions offered by payment plans allow you to pay tuition in monthly installments, rather than one lump sum and offer:

  • MORE TIME TO PAY.  Spread your tuition payments over a period of several months.

  • AVOID HIGH INTEREST RATES*.  Unlike traditional loans, Tuition Payment Plans only charge a small fee at enrollment

  • CONVENIENCE.  Enroll, manage your account and make payments all online, 24 hours a day.

Use this checklist as a guide to help take advantage of this budgeting tool. Be sure to complete each step to complete tuition payment plan enrollment.
  • Verify that your balance due is at least $300. The Tuition Payment Plan administered by Higher One is only available to students with balances due of $300 or more.
  • To avoid cancellation of your class schedule, housing and meal plan, you must enroll in the Tuition Payment Plan online or call Higher One at 800-635-0120.
  • Make the initial payment on or before the established fee payment deadline. The Tuition Payment Plan can be used to cover tuition, fees, room & board but can not include any charges for a previous semester, parking fines, books or parking decals.
  • Notify the Office of Accounts Receivable by 1:00 p.m. on the fee payment due date (see University Academic Calender) of your initial payment to ensure processing and to avoid class schedule, housing and meal plan cancellation.
  • To avoid delinquency, make timely payments according to established plan payment dates. The class schedule, housing and meal plan for that semester may be cancelled for any student with a delinquent account.

The Tuition Payment Plan is available only for the Fall and Spring semesters. The plan is not available for the Summer Sessions.

Please note: South Carolina State University only permits students to have one tuition payment plan per semester. You are not able to enroll in multiple tuition payment plans per semester.

Consequences of Delinquency

  • A student who has a delinquent account will not be eligible to pre-register for classes, request transcripts or receive a degree. If the student has already pre-registered for the next term, the class schedule, housing and meal plan may be dropped for the subsequent semester.
  • A student who is delinquent with his/her payments may not be eligible to participate in the program for future semesters.
  • Delinquent accounts are referred to an outside collection agency. This will adversely affect your credit report. The student will be responsible for any collection cost, attorney fees or court costs.
